A post card with the date of your wedding day is a must. It should stand out and look unique. Your invitees should want to keep your card not only before the date of your wedding but for many years to come to keep the memory of your wedding day alive.
Vintage invitations:
Recently, vintage style weddings have became popular. Your invitations in this case should reflect the choice of such theme.

Ribbons and Lace:
Often we see invitations decorated with red ribbons. This is a ellegant choice, suited for any wedding style.

Photos of the Bride and the Groom:
Photographs with happy faces of the couple are the most popular choice without a question. The facial expressions reflect on the spirit of the couple and the mood which the wedding will be set in. You may add a little of romance and playful stills and your guests will be sure to get a smirk on their face when receiving a card like this.

Flowers:
I find it difficult to imagine any wedding without beautiful flowers! This maybe a floral ornament or dried flowers or maybe even… fake flowers. These flourishing invitation cards will appeal to everyone.

Unique Invitations:
Today’s couples try to make their wedding day an unforgettable event A unique approach is welcomed everywhere, including your wedding invitations! Come up with your own unique approach. It maybe funny, made of photo-collage, caricatures or even paintings of yourselves. An non-standard packaging is always an option.

These ideas were borrowed from a popular Russian internet site, which I have found helpful. I tried my best to translate the article in hopes that someone may appreciate reading this.

Tina and James’ pre-wedding photo shoot took place yesterday in Februrary 2011. While we were all freezing our knuckles off I was amazed at how Tina handled the cold weather in a wedding gown!
You’d be surprised at how easy it was to get access to popular places on a late Monday afternoon — in short — shooting was a breeze and everyone was pleased with the outcome at the end.

Sometimes an ordinary engagement photo can make a great layout design for a single page or in your display album. This idea came from cropping couple’s faces from one single photograph and creating a 2-page layout. Simple, fun and effective!
Idea of a heart in the middle was my wife’s idea, the possibilities are limitless — we can add poems, drawings and all sorts of shapes when creating design layouts for wedding albums and engagement collages
